課程目標

This course will explore Daoist and Confucian approaches to the problem of selfhood, touching on such foundational issue as the problem of morality, luck, authenticity, selfhood, and contingency. Professor Paul J. D''''''''Ambrosio is a major figure in the field of transcultural philosophy, and will lead students on an exploration of these vital issues in the modern reconstruction of the Chinese philosophical tradition. Currently, professor D''''''''Ambrosio is Dean of the Center for Intercultural Research at East China Normal University, a fellow at that university''''''''s Institute for
Modern Chinese Thought, as well as a Professor of Chinese Philosophy.
